How to get money from the free app? The answer is freemium or ad-supported models. It’s not the only monetization of the app but also a great opportunity to promote a product. If you have an Android in your pocket, then you know what I mean. The most popular and easiest way to collect money from the free app is the advertisement. Users click on the banner and are linking to another app. This annoying «feature» will continue to pop-up in 2016 (sorry, guys).

Unlike Android, iOS didn’t have connection and information interchange between apps. After iOS 9 was released we’ve seen the revolution on the App Store. First place was taken by “Ad Blocker”, second – “Minecraft”, third — “Plague Inc.” and fourth- “Purify Blocker”.

It all started with a healthy way of life. iWatch, activity trackers, and other wearable IoT started to grow their customers from the “Healthy Lifestyle” trend. I think the popularity of these devices may stop in 2016. The niche is already full and they cannot offer innovations which can interest consumers. In 2020, 4 billion devices will be connected to the IoT. Mainly from Smart Home: smart thermostat, connected lights, smart fridges, smart doorlocks, etc. Not only word “smart” that will make them popular in the coming years. They bring main value for consumers – economy.

You know about global surveillance. The first citizen was imprisoned over the social network (VK) in 2015. In modern society, so many actions are observable, recorded and searchable. We cannot make a post without somebody knowing about the context. You think text can be hidden from others by clicking a “Private” option button? You are wrong. After the political situation in Russia, FSS (Federal Security Service) started to monitor the largest social network – VK. A young man found himself in jail for criticizing the government policy. After this, the VK’s owner Pavel Durov has left the company. This led to another “trend”. Russian developers decided to go for secure messaging. “Telegram”, “Threema” and “Wire” are just some of the apps, which started to gain popularity in this category. We’ll see the tendency of privacy in communication growing each year starting from 2015.

As there is a market competition on the user, time to market (TTM) is becoming more valuable. That’s where internet of code comes in. Its’ a totally new system which will be trending IT conferences in 2016. You have the possibility to use a number of modules, which can update themselves to create a completely new mobile app. The modules will intercommunicate within open API. This way, after uploading the app it can be updated by parts. You definitely will hear more about it in the coming years.

Robotic technology is increasing at a fast rate, providing us with new ways that can assist with home to-dos, automobile industry and many other tasks. It has changed the world we live in and is continuing to impact the way we do things. Robotic technology transformation from the Past to Present surrounds almost everyone in today’s society, and it affects both our work and free time activities. There are different types of robotic technologies that are used nowadays, industrial robots, military, medical, health, domestic, humanoid robots and etc.

Industrial robots have significantly changed businesses around the globe, they help in such manufacture areas as welding, automotive industry, transport and etc. Military robots are used for strategic needs: search and rescue missions, attack operations and etc. Ones of the most beneficial robots are medical ones, used in precise surgeries and complex medical procedures.

As an example of domestic robots some kind of robotic movers, robotic vacuum cleaners, toys, pool cleaners and floor washing robots can be mentioned. All these devices don’t need much of human interference and will operate correctly just being properly set up. The use of such automatic home utensils just simplifies our life. Also, from time to time, we all use helpers like Siri, chat bots, IoT, etc. You’ll have the possibility to buy them. Since «Slack» has an open API you can literally program the app for yourself. It’ll be as much private as you wish it to be. This customized bot will gather all the information you need and put it on one track. You can add an artificial intelligence to this package and say “Hello” to 2016!

We are not only talking about devices but also about the context. I think the near future will be very much as it’s outlined by WeChat in Asia. WeChat («Weixin») is a messaging app which was released in January 2011 in China. It supports instant messages, text messages, voice messages, videos, walkie talkie, and stickers. Users can buy tickets, take credits, etc. Ukrainian bank «Privatbank» wants to launch a customized mobile app «Privat24 chat» which will be as the one in Asia. Hope we will see it soon.

Before 2016, much work was made to develop an impressive app with good functionality and luxurious interface. Now market turns around to face the real need of users. From app-oriented market it shifted to user-centered design. The emphasis of the UCD is placed on how users need or want to use a product instead of forcing them to change behavior to use the product. This shift will continue to progress in 2016.

Welcome to the future.
